                         Taquaru{\c{c}}u Grande river set in the city of Palmas - TO, 
                         between latitudes 10 º 25'19, 44 {"}and 10 º 24'11, 27{"} S and 
                         longitude 48 º 5'14, 89 {"}and 48 º 4 '21, 39 {"}W and area of 
                         461,123 km2. The calculation of landscape metrics related 
                         categories of composition and configuration generated results that 
                         allow the perspective of geographical Ecology of Landscapes, make 
                         the recognition of the spatial pattern of sub - basin of the 
                         Taquaru{\c{c}}{\'u} river areas and percentage of classes that 
                         predominate in sub - basin for the years 1998 and 2006 show an 
                         increase of heterogeneity in the landscape, in the context of 
                         planning the use of watersheds, understanding ecological patterns 
                         of the landscape is critical to the establish guidelines aimed at 
                         aligning the multiple use of natural resources with other 
                         sectorial politics that intervene in the context of sustainable 
                         development applied to water resources.",
